President’s Letter – November 2023
October was a terrific month of activities arranged by Karen and Joe Calabretta. We started off with dinner and music at Bourbon Street, a BBQ & Bocce ball tournament (Tim & Becky Blackburn were the Champs of the night), candle making, Dinner Mystery night, an awesome day at La Belle Ami and winding up with a fantastic Halloween Party. Wow what a month!
We have a great array of activities planned for November by Faith Campbell and Sharon Terry. We kick off the month on the 1st with dinner and belly dancing at Jerusalem Restaurant.
Our Thanksgiving Meeting/Party is November 14th at Beachfront Kitchen and Bar. The cost is $22 per person plus a cash bar. We need to limit attendance to 50 members. Therefore, register on our website for the event.
Our Annual Christmas party has been set for Saturday Dec. 9th at the Elks Club on 27th Street. We will have a buffet dinner and dancing with DJ Rick Morano. Cost is only $40 per person. Tickets are now on sale. Reserve your spot on the website. Bring a check to the November meeting or mail checks made out to CSOC to Elena Moglia 606 65th Ave N., Myrtle Beach SC 29572. Payment is due by December 1st.
We started distributing Angel Tree slips to members this past month. 26 names have already been given out. I will be getting additional names soon. Once I receive the additional names, I will send out an email. All unwrapped gifts (you may put them in gift bags) need to get back to me by November 30th. Please note that I will not be at the November meeting, nor will I be available to receive gifts between Nov 13-25th.
Please remember to sign up for events on the website and cancel your signup if your plans change. There were several times over these past months that members did not cancel. This caused issues at the venues because we reserved spaces for no-shows. This makes us look bad to the businesses that we are patronizing and is just poor common courtesy to the monthly organizers.
