PRESIDENT'S LETTER MAY 2025
Hi Everyone,
This is my last President's letter, this year has flown by. I have enjoyed being your president. Below is the slate of officers that the Board is recommending starting in June.

Members will be voting on this slate of Board Members at the May monthly meeting. The meeting will be at The Giant Crab on Tuesday May 13th. Please be sure and register on the website.
Thank you to Laura Bowers and Kathy Dees our event coordinators for April. A great time was had by all. Pictures will be on the Website and Facebook.
Saturday May 3rd is the Kentucky Derby Party at the Beach Front Kitchen starting at 4 pm until 7:30 pm. This is a Grand Strand Optimist fundraiser event. There will be a silent auction and 50/50. Ladies wear your favorite hat and come join the fun. Cost is only $10.00 and includes event appetizers.
Our May event planners are Jamie Sue Johnson, Kathy Calabretta and Joe Calabretta. They are starting the month with Pelicans behind the scenes tour and lunch at The Hangout, Jukebox Bingo at the Elks, LaBelle Amie Vineyard/Concert and ending with Complimentary Happy Hour at Brightwater Senior Living. There is also still time to register for the 40th Anniversary Gala on May 22 at the Elks Club. The cost is $40.00 for members and $50.00 for guests. Payment is due no later than Tuesday May 13th at the monthly meeting. If you have registered and still have not paid please bring a check to the monthly meeting. This will be a fun evening with music provided by Kellie J & Larinza. Please check out the website for more information.
Washington DC was a fabulous Trip. However, the Cherry Blossoms did not cooperate. There are lots of pictures from the US Capitol, Arlington Cemetary and all the other great sites in our Nations Capital.
Our fall 2025 trip is a bus trip to Nashville. Details can be found in the trip section on the website. We currently have 14 deposits and we need 30 to get our bus. To join this trip please forward a deposit and trip application to John Schwartz.
Our fall 2026 trip to Portugal is fully booked (42 people). Pricing for the trip will come at a later date when the airlines releases its pricing information. John is working on the Deck Room choices. To join the wait list please contact John Schwartz.
